Gene Roberts, one of Malcolm's chiefs of security, was an NYPD undercover cop. Roberts was an agent with NYPDs Bureau of Special Services (BOSS), a super-secret political intelligence unit nicknamed the Red Squad. Roberts was on the scene as Malcolm was assassinated and supposedly tried to resuscitate him after he had been shot multiple times, including in the chest. With February celebrated as Black History Month, the life and death of black leader Malcolm X, aka El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, deserves a new examination. Malcolm X died from assassins’ bullets on February 21, 1965, at the age of 39. By that time, Malcolm X had started a non-religious activist group that worked with Martin Luther King, Jr, and collaborated with African presidents. His legacy inspired many activist organizations. U.S. Intelligence used similar tactics and personnel to target him as they used against MLK, the Black Panthers, and others.

It was the Nation of Islam that dragged Malcolm X out of a life of crime, moral penury and racial victimhood. It was then what he called "True Islam" that drew him away from the cultish Nation of Islam and its anti-white racism, through an eye-opening Hajj pilgrimage.

The gunshot set off a sequence of events that would drive a wedge between Jesse Jackson and many of Dr. King's followers.

I just picked up Jesse Ventura's book American Conspiracies, and one of the chapters explores the assassination of Malcolm X and how elements of the CIA/FBI set him up to die out of fear that he and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. might form an alliance.

Did The Elites Have Martin Luther King, Jr. Killed?

The most compelling argument against the existence of a vast conspiracy orchestrating the assassinations of Jack and Bobby Kennedy is that the brothers were never threats to ruling power. The Kennedys were card-carrying members of the global elites, ran in their circles, catered to their whims, administered their political and economic bidding. (Just ask Fidel Castro.) With MLK, it could be a different matter. And with the infinitely more radical Malcolm X it certainly was. Whatever King’s actual function–and the Reverend was given a hard time as something of an Uncle Tom by radicals in the later Sixties–the ruling power construed him as a threat.
