It may be hard to associate "corruption" with a U.S. government agency (insert dripping sarcasm here), but it's true: Sometimes those stewards of our tax dollars don't spend them very wisely.

At least, that's what cattleman and rancher advocate Michael Callicrate is alleging in a federal suit he has filed against the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which he says illegally funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to beef industry lobbyists.

“USDA Organic” is simply a marketing term those who take government ethics at face value. The goal has always been to increase agricultural sales, not promote organic farming. The public seems to confide in this label through sheer ignorance. The National Organic Program (NOP) which governs the “USDA Organic” label has no interest in organic farming, improving soil, quality of the produce, or factors that pollute the environment.

The USDA has been under fire recently for its admitted assault against nature, after multiple investigations have uncovered its deliberate tampering with both plants and animals alike. One such investigation has put an end to the mystery surrounding the death of millions of birds, with USDA documents revealing the organization’s role in the massive slaughter. In addition to the mass bird killings, it turns out the USDA was fully aware that a highly-popular herbicide chemical was a known bee-killer, which may have aided the bee decline. The USDA has also threatened the genetic integrity of the nation’s crops. Information has surfaced regarding the USDA’s illegal approval of Monsanto’s biotech crop, sugar beets. These crimes are simply an excerpt from the long list of USDA crimes that are continually being exposed.

Grains Market Conspiracy And The USDA Report

Last week I posted on the grain markets. The initial reaction to the USDA crop report on May 11 was a spike down in the price of corn, wheat and soybeans. After all, the USDA report painted a picture of abundant stocks and on schedule planting. Well, as I wrote on May 12, the crop report turned out to be a work of creative art by the USDA. I am still scratching my head and wondering whether there weren’t some ulterior motives with respect to this report.
